Watercolor Spring Themes: Flowers, Birds and Insects

Enjoy a fun day painting spring themes with watercolors. Join us to practice both Eastern and Western watercolor techniques, such as, wet-in-wet, glaze, and dry brush, on a variety of Asian rice papers and to learn the calligraphy for each of the subjects: peony, iris, orchids, morning glories, plum blossoms, egrets with bamboo, small birds, frogs and dragonflies. Shinrin-Yoku: Forest Bathing at Olbrich

In Japanese Shinrin-Yoku loosely means, “forest bathing,” or immersing oneself in the atmosphere of nature. An introductory 30-minute talk provides insight to Shinrin-Yoku, followed by a gentle, slow-moving, and silent walk through the gardens. Your guide will provide the prompts that make this a deeply sensorial experience. Take-home prompts and a light refreshment will be provided. Please dress for the weather.
