Shinrin-Yoku: Forest Bathing at Olbrich

In Japanese Shinrin-Yoku loosely means, “forest bathing,” or immersing oneself in the atmosphere of nature. An introductory 30-minute talk provides insight to Shinrin-Yoku, followed by a gentle, slow-moving, and silent walk through the gardens. Your guide will provide the prompts that make this a deeply sensorial experience. Take-home prompts and a light refreshment will be provided. Please dress for the weather.

Little Sprouts

Each class is designed for children to work side-by-side with their adult caregiver as they engage in hands-on, fun, age-appropriate experiences that support the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards. Ages 2-5 with an adult; adult attends free.

Introduction to Painting with Soft Pastel

Many students “fall in love” with pastels after taking this workshop! Soft pastels are fun to use, colorful, versatile, and expressive. You'll be introduced to this dry painting medium through two nature-based exercises on different papers. This workshop is also good as a refresher course for those with some experience. All paper is provided; see supply list for other required materials. Please bring a bag lunch.
