Have you been dreaming of creating your own rain garden or looking to revitalize one? Learn about the goals and benefits of rain gardens, where to site them, and how to determine what size they should be. We will also discuss selecting native plants that will be beautiful, attract pollinators, and thrive in rain garden settings.
Chair yoga allows you to be guided through stretches and traditional yoga poses while seated and standing, using a chair as a home base. The chair serves as support to your foundation and allows these positions to be more accessible. Guidance through breath exercises and meditation will be a main component of this class to enhance your overall body awareness.
Olbrich’s Woodland Garden puts on a spectacular spring floral show every year around this time, and you’re invited! Join Olbrich horticulturist Erin Presley as we look for bloodroot, trilliums, Virginia bluebells, Jack-in-the-pulpit, and other early bloomers, and might even spot a lady’s slipper. We will also talk about plants and creative ideas to extend the season of interest for your woodland garden throughout the entire year!
Soil is literally the foundation for many plants and landscapes. Join Lisa Johnson from UW-Extension for a closer look at soil and learn about its composition, impact on plant nutrition, and how to assess soil and plant health.
