Plants are great, but it's the people that make our garden special.
Yoga is a practice that involves a series of stretches and poses paired with breathing exercises to increase harmony between mind and body. This class offers the powerful benefits of exercise in a gentle way that is accessible to people regardless of age or fitness level. Join us to restore the balance in your life.
Come laugh and learn in this art & writing workshop! Beginners will learn how to keep a regular sketchbook & "bad haiku" field journal. These mindfulness practices will grow our drawing skills & help us "stop, look, and listen" to the miraculous in the mundane of our own backyards. No skill needed. All supplies provided.
Plants offer us so much more than physical medicine. Your instructor will lead a guided drumming meditation, helping participants tune in to receive their own unique healing messages from the plants. Explore the history of plant spirit medicine, local medicinal plants, and the spirit medicine they offer us. Meditations will be led outside, weather permitting. Dress for the weather.
The ancient exercise and movement art of Tai Chi has a world wide contemporary following due to its benefits to physical and emotional well-being. Research verifies it is one of the best exercises for physical balance and fall prevention, and the gentleness and pleasure of the experience encourages continued standing and/or seated practice.
Feel the earth as you rest in savasana surrounded by the nourishment and beauty of nature. In this series your instructor will kindly guide you through gentle, opening postures using the breath and a focused mind. This practice is accessible to all-levels and modifications will be provided. Class will be inside if the weather is poor. Bring your own mat and water bottle. **No class on July 4!**
Explore the lush landscape of the gardens with a nature-inspired writing prompt, return to the classroom to reflect on your experience, and share your writing if you would like. This class will inspire writers of all experience levels to find fresh joy in the writing process and challenge participants to look at the natural world through new eyes.
