(Virtual) Tai Chi Meditation at Home (6-Week Series)

“Move like a great river; be still like a mountain” instructs the age-old description of the meditative exercise and movement art of T’ai Chi Ch’uan. This class offers standing movements and seated practices rooted within the Chinese tradition of Tai Chi and Chi Kung for the enrichment of body, mind and spirit. All physical abilities welcome, including those in need of chair-based practice.

Celebrate Spring with Fused Glass Art

Create unique glass art and bring the garden inside to enjoy year round. Using a 8x8” piece of white glass as a base, learn how to create a flower or garden image by placing small glass embellishments. You will have a big selection of materials to use in creating your design so it reflects your individual style. Your final design will be fired in a kiln and available for pick up at Olbrich. Class fee includes base shapes, embellishments, and kiln firing. Larger precuts will be available for purchase. Please bring glasses and wear long pants and close-toed shoes.

This is an introductory two-day watercolor workshop designed for absolute beginners and for those who have some experience painting with watercolor but seek a refresher to start painting again. Learn or re-learn basics of watercolor including experimental wet-into-wet techniques that give you enough understanding of the medium to enjoy painting watercolors on your own. This class will cover the linocut process from start to finish: planning, carving, and printing your block on a small printing press. Students will be provided all materials including linoleum, linoleum cutters, cotton napkins, and ink, and will leave the class with a set of 6 napkins.
