Valentine Card Blockprinting with a Press

Ready to get into the Valentine spirit through craft and community? Learn the process of linocut carving and create a set of 6 cards. This workshop will walk you through the linocut process from start to finish: planning, carving, and printing your block with a small printing press. Students will be provided all materials- linoleum, linoleum cutters, cards and ink- and will leave the class with a set of 6 cards and envelopes.

Introduction to Painting with Soft Pastel

Many students “fall in love” with pastels after taking this workshop! Soft pastels are fun to use, colorful, versatile, and expressive. You'll be introduced to this dry painting medium through two nature-based exercises on different papers. This workshop is also good as a refresher course for those with some experience. All paper is provided; see supply list for other required materials. Please bring a bag lunch.

Springtime Soft Pastel Interpretations

Celebrate Spring! We'll create three interpretations from the same spring floral, garden, or landscape photograph. Soft pastel is a very adaptable medium and is perfect for learning different painting techniques. Using different papers and styles of application, you'll learn which styles and techniques work best for you. This repeatable workshop is for beginner to advanced levels. See supply list for required materials; all papers will be provided by the instructor. Please bring a bag lunch.
