We all have stories to tell, stories about our life experiences, stories about our friends or stories about our families. Our stories define us. Through the Greater Madison Writing Project’s “Writing Your Life” workshop series, we will help you find the stories you want to tell and give you strategies to help you craft them into stories you will want to share. Join us to learn how to incorporate different writing strategies like descriptive writing, sense of place, capturing someone’s unique character and personality, using dialogue in meaningful ways, exploring story arcs, developing focus and flow and finding the best beginnings and meaningful endings to the stories.

In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll use a black oil/wax pencil to outline the design on translucent film. Then we'll add alcohol inks and various textures to simulate the look of glass. You will create two different 7" diameter designs that will both be matted to 12x12. No experience is necessary and all supplies are provided.
What is ephemeral art? Art that is only created with natural materials and is meant to get blown away by the wind or tumbled down by the rain. In this class, we will explore early spring ephemerals around the garden and create art to match using only the things we find on the ground. Dress for the weather and bring your creativity!
