Plants are great, but it's the people that make our garden special.
ONLINE ONLY! Wisconsin is home to over 400 species of wild bees, and more than 120 species of butterflies. As the moon rises, over 1,500 species of moths awaken, ensuring round the clock pollination and these are just the more well-known pollinators! These tiny superheroes pollinate over one-third of our food, making their health and survival a critical component of earth’s ecosystem. Every little bit helps – don’t have space to dig in the dirt – create a pollinator focused container for your patio! Olbrich’s Pollinator Plant Sales offer a variety of perennials with plentiful amounts of nectar and pollen, making them very appealing to pollinator insects! Plant pickup is June 26.
Feel the earth as you rest in savasana surrounded by the nourishment and beauty of nature. In this series your instructor will kindly guide you through gentle, opening postures using the breath and a focused mind. This practice is accessible to all-levels and modifications will be provided. Class will be inside if the weather is poor. Bring your own mat and water bottle. **No class on July 4!**
Want to grow your own food but feel limited in space? Join us to learn what containers to choose, how to ensure good soil, and how to maximize your space so you can celebrate abundant harvests in the city! Learn what crops to start now, how to succession sow seeds and keep your container garden healthy through the hot, dry summer days.
Explore the lush landscape of the gardens with a nature-inspired writing prompt, return to the classroom to reflect on your experience, and share your writing if you would like. This class will inspire writers of all experience levels to find fresh joy in the writing process and challenge participants to look at the natural world through new eyes.
