Plants are great, but it's the people that make our garden special.
We all have stories to tell, stories about our life experiences, stories about our friends or stories about our families. Our stories define us. Through the Greater Madison Writing Project’s “Writing Your Life” workshop series, we will help you find the stories you want to tell and give you strategies to help you craft them into stories you will want to share. Join us to learn how to incorporate different writing strategies like descriptive writing, sense of place, capturing someone’s unique character and personality, using dialogue in meaningful ways, exploring story arcs, developing focus and flow and finding the best beginnings and meaningful endings to the stories.
The ancient art of bonsai is an exercise in patience, time, and artistry. We will abbreviate the process by turning a container-grown nursery juniper into a living sculpture over the course of this class, with hands-on work on your very own tree. Bring a shallow 6-10” pot (or we’ll provide a plastic one) to take your tree home in, and gloves since juniper is prickly.
