Little Sprouts

Little Sprouts programs are nature and literature-based early childhood programs designed to meet the multidimensional learning and developmental needs of children ages 2-5 years. Each class is designed for children to work side-by-side with their adult caregiver as they engage in hands-on, fun, age-appropriate experiences that support the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards. Ages 2-5 with an adult; adult attends free.

Conservatory Curator Colten Blackburn will guide you through the process as he shares design, planting, and care techniques from many years of caring for the tropical Bolz Conservatory. Bring your own container to accommodate 3-5 small plants as well as any figurines you bring with you; all other supplies will be provided. Yin Yoga and Meditation (3-Week Series)

This three week series will pair Yin yoga & meditation for a restorative and grounding practice. Appropriate for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike, yin yoga is a practice of postures performed primarily on the ground for an improvement in flexibility, increased function of the joints and connective tissues as well as an increased sense of energy and vitality in the body. The meditation portion of this class will be beginner-oriented and introduced within the postures of class.

Chair yoga allows you to be guided through stretches and traditional yoga poses while seated and standing, using a chair as a home base. The chair serves as support to your foundation and allows these positions to be more accessible. Guidance through breath exercises and meditation will be a main component of this class to enhance your overall body awareness.

Spring in the Woodland Garden Walk

Olbrich’s Woodland Garden puts on a spectacular spring floral show every year around this time, and you’re invited! Join Olbrich horticulturist Erin Presley as we look for bloodroot, trilliums, Virginia bluebells, Jack-in-the-pulpit, and other early bloomers, and might even spot a lady’s slipper. We will also talk about plants and creative ideas to extend the season of interest for your woodland garden throughout the entire year!
