Quilts in Bloom: Fall Quilt and Flower Show
September 19 - October 12

This year’s Fall Quilt and Flower Show at Olbrich Botanical Gardens features beautifully stitched art quilts by dozens of local quilters. More than just a quilt show, Olbrich brings the colors of the fall season indoors in a beautiful pairing of botanical quilts with colorful flowers, fall foliage, and grasses. All of the quilts feature unique, botanical designs. Some are based on traditional quilting designs, though most are more modern, original designs that use fabrics in creative patterns or asymmetrical scenes, to blend colors and create movement and texture.
Traditional fall plants like mums sit among the quilts, gourds and pumpkins peek out from around the pots, and gorgeous fall grasses sway as visitors walk by. This year, unique plants like dwarf water cyprus, Cramer’s pink celosia, and scarlet runner beans also complement the colorful quilts. Every plant is specially selected by Olbrich staff to accompany the decorative quilts that adorn the walls.
Quilts in Bloom is open September 19 to October 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Suggested $1 donation.
