Quilts in BloomQuilts in Bloom

September 15 - October 17

10 am - 4 pm daily

Enjoy the beauty of the fall season with artistic interpretations of colorful fall foliage, flowers, and grasses at this year's Quilts in Bloom:  Fall Quilt and Flower Show. Featuring beautifully stitched art quilts by dozens of local quilters, including a one-of-a-kind kimono quilt, the event showcases a full spectrum of art quilt designs ranging from traditional botanical to original modern styles. Traditional fall plants such as mums, asters, cabbage, and kale complement the quilts while fall grasses sway as visitors walk by. Every plant is specially selected by Olbrich staff to coordinate with the decorative quilts.

Outdoor Gardens

Quilted Courtyard in the Herb GardenOpen Daily!

Also enjoy the changing seasons in the outdoor gardens where hundreds of fall asters and chrysanthemums join the continued glory of summer annuals. Be sure to visit Olbrich's Herb Garden and see chrysanthemums planted in a living quilt design in the Herb Garden Courtyard. Stroll through the Herb Garden to see how American quilting motifs have been translated into a beautiful garden design. Fall blooming crocus, Japanese anemone, azure sage, and yellow wax bells abound in a colorful symphony of autumn throughout the rest of the outdoor gardens. The outdoor gardens are always free and open daily from 8 am to 8 pm in September, and from 9 am to 6 pm in October.
