Home Garden Tour – Madison’s West Side

Experience
a world of garden wonders on Olbrich’s 2005 Home Garden Tour – Westside
Explorations. The tour features everything from prairies to ponds and meadow
gardens to water features.
The tour features home gardens on Madison’s West Side, including the
Blackhawk and Cherrywood neighborhoods. See creative landscape ideas for
your own home garden. Pre-tour tickets
are $10 for Olbrich Botanical Society members and $12 for the general
public. Tickets the day of the tour are $12 for members and $15 for the

Event: Olbrich’s Blooming
Butterflies July
20 – August 14 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. daily
Experience the wonder of
strolling through a tropical forest on a search for fleeting butterflies.
Live butterflies emerge from chrysalises daily in the Bolz
Conservatory. Olbrich’s Blooming Butterflies is a great adventure for
people of all ages. Learn about
butterfly-attracting plants in the outdoor gardens and visit the Growing
Gifts shop. Investigate the
mysterious exotic butterflies in Dan Capps’ collection. Children can visit
stamping stations with their butterfly passport while learning fun facts. The
cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 12 and under, free for children
under 2. Olbrich Botanical Society members are admitted free. Parking is
free. Bus tours are welcome.

the culture of Thailand in Olbrich's Thai Pavilion and Garden. Thai dance

Exhibit: Elena Kachuro-Rosenberg’s
“Organic Matter” Ongoing:
June 12 – September 4 Sundays,
11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Elena
Kachuro-Rosenberg’s black and white series “Organic Matter” was
inspired by the New York Botanical Garden and Wave Hill.
She brings her impressive series to Madison to share with the
visitors of Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Free. Gallery
Sundays are made possible by a gift from William and Joyce Wartmann.
Yoga
in the Gardens On-going, Mondays, 5 – 6:15 p.m. OR Thursdays,
7:30 - 8:45 a.m.
This is a participative
experiential class for gardeners, nature enthusiasts, and yoga students.
Held in the Conservatory or outdoor gardens when possible. Comfortable,
loose fitting clothing and a portable mat are recommended; feel free to
bring a water bottle. Rick Comello, Monday instructor, is a bodyworker and
Reiki Master with over 20 years of experience. Jonathan A. Garber RMT,
Thursday instructor, is a certified Kripalu Yoga and Yoga for the Special
Child Teacher. The cost is $10 per class - pay at the door. Check
with instructors concerning holiday weeks.
