| The problem with a maturing home landscape is
that all of those gorgeous trees you have been nurturing have grown into
magnificent adult trees, and therefore blocked your beautiful perennial
beds that need full sun. Don't despair! The shade plant
palette is much more expansive than many people realize. Shade opens
up entirely different garden uses and sensations that balance sun inspired
areas. Olbrich's Director of Education Ed Lyon will address
different types of shade gardens, cultural requirements, altering soils to
accommodate pH, design elements, and maintenance issues. The cost is $12
for the general public, and $10 for Olbrich members.
After you have thought about the design of your shade garden, you're ready to think about which plants to buy. Made in the Shade: The Plants will introduce you to many types of plants that thrive in shady spaces. |
