Tastes of the World Luncheon Series: English Gardens (session 1)
Monday, January 26, noon - 1
Registration #LS044

English gardens are always fascinating for their exuberance, and continue to be a source of awe and inspiration.  Come dine on English cuisine as you take a visual tour through some of England's greatest gardens.  Olbrich's Director of Horticulture Jeff Epping will lead you through a slide presentation of gardens including Wisley, Sissinghurst, and more.

Wisley, home of the Royal Horticultural Society, is a highly respected English garden. Specialty gardens abound at Wisley and because of its relationship with Royal Horticultural Society, Wisley serves as a scientific garden, with a mission to be used as an experimental garden to improve horticulture practices. Among its national collections of species are the daphne, pulmonaria, and crocus.  The Sissinghurst Castle Gardens is thought to be the exemplary garden in England, and perhaps all of Europe. The roses are the main attraction of these gardens, but along with the roses, the Spring Garden features a potpourri of bulbs, the Nuttery is lined with primoses, and the White Garden remains a favorite of visitors.

The cost for this presentation is $25 for the general public, and $20 for Olbrich members, and includes lunch.

English Gardens is the first of a 5 session Tastes of the World Luncheon Series.  The series begins in January and meets one Monday per month through May. Each luncheon series meets from noon until 1 pm, and highlights botanic gardens from around the world, and the food of the region.  Come to one luncheon or attend the entire series at a discounted price.
